In a groundbreaking move, Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL) has launched the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) service, revolutionizing the way commuters travel in e-buses. This innovative initiative aims to make travel smarter, faster, and more convenient, aligning with the city’s vision of becoming a futuristic urban hub.

Cashless Transactions for a Hassle-Free Journey

The NCMC service enables users to pay travel charges using a card, eliminating the need for cash transactions. This move is expected to benefit commuters greatly, making their daily travel experience smoother and more efficient. To encourage the adoption of this new system, SSCL is offering a 5% discount on basic passenger fare, starting next week.

Easy Accessibility and Convenience

The NCMC card can be easily obtained from SSCL e-bus conductors, SSCL e-bus depot at Pantha Chowk, or the SSCL office at Lal Chowk, for a nominal fee of Rs 100. The card can be recharged through the Chalo App, making it a convenient option for commuters. Moreover, the card is accepted at all NCMC-enabled PoS machines, including railways, metros, restaurants, and online platforms across India.

Partnership with Chalo: Enhancing Public Transportation

SSCL has partnered with Chalo, India’s leading transport technology company, to launch the NCMC service. Chalo’s technology has digitized buses in cities, making them more reliable and efficient. The Chalo App provides live bus tracking services, reducing waiting times from 30 minutes to just 2-3 minutes.

A Step Towards a Smarter Srinagar – E Buses

The introduction of NCMC service is a significant step towards transforming Srinagar into a smart city. This initiative demonstrates the city’s commitment to embracing innovative solutions, enhancing the quality of life for its citizens, and setting a benchmark for other cities to follow.
