Martyr Dilwar Khan: Brave Soldier Who Made the Ultimate Sacrifice in Kupwara Encounter

In a valiant display of courage and patriotism, Naik (Gnr) Dilwar Khan, a 28-year-old soldier from Himachal Pradesh, laid down his life in a fierce encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday morning. The Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police had launched a joint anti-terrorist operation in the Lolab area of Kupwara a few days ago, following specific intelligence about the presence of terrorists in the region.

As the security forces closed in on the hiding terrorists, a fierce gunbattle ensued, resulting in the elimination of one terrorist and the martyrdom of Jawan Dilwar Khan. The soldier succumbed to his injuries, leaving behind a legacy of bravery and sacrifice.

The Srinagar-based Chinar Corps of the Indian Army paid tribute to the fallen soldier, saying, “One terrorist has been eliminated, and we have lost a brave soldier in the line of duty. The operation is still in progress.” The officials added that the security forces are committed to continuing their efforts to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the region and ensure peace and stability for the people.

The martyrdom of Dilwar Khan is a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by the Indian Armed Forces in their relentless fight against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
