Kashmiri’s aspirations are on the rise, the local industry is doing well and tourism is on the rise. A new rap song by two rising Kashmiri artists talking about the positive changes that have taken place in Kashmir is becoming more and more popular online. The track “Badalta Kashmir” performed by the two rising Kashmiri rap artists Humaira Jan and MC Raa is talking about the positive change that has taken place in the Kashmir valley since Article 370 has been lifted. The song has gained a lot of traction on the social media. The lyrics of the song talk about the significant reduction of terrorism and the cessation of the shedding of blood in Kashmir. It keeps repeating the theme of ‘Naya Kashmir’, which shows the progress that has been made in the Union territory. The song talks about the changes that the youth have seen in Kashmir, which includes co-existence among different religions, development initiatives and a peaceful life.

The song also makes references to important events that were conducted for the first time in Kashmir, like the G20 meeting in Kashmir, Amarnath Yatra, tourism development and Digital India. The GOI’s web portal shared the video on its social media accounts with the caption, “Young people of Kashmir have spoken through an electrifying rap song!”

A former Indian cricketer posted the video on their X timeline and said, “This Kashmiri artist showed professional level rapping, great work! #JammuandKashmir”. A former Pakistani cricketer, Danish Kaneria, shared the video saying, “This is what PM did in Jammu & Kashmir. Watch this awesome rap!”
