Jammu, April 12, 2025: Subedar Kuldeep Chand of the 9 Punjab Regiment, a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of the Indian Army, made the ultimate sacrifice while leading a counter-infiltration operation along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Keri Battal area of Sunderbani. The operation, conducted on the night of April 11, successfully foiled an infiltration attempt by heavily armed terrorists from across the border.
Subedar Kuldeep Chand sustained critical injuries during the fierce exchange of fire while gallantly leading his team to thwart the infiltration. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, he succumbed to his injuries early Saturday morning. Officials confirmed his demise and expressed profound condolences to his family and comrades.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of White Knight Corps and all ranks saluted Subedar Kuldeep Chand’s supreme sacrifice. In a statement, they honored his bravery and leadership, which were instrumental in neutralizing the threat posed by infiltrators. “His team’s valour and Sub Kuldeep’s ultimate sacrifice foiled an infiltration attempt by terrorists,” read a tribute shared by official Army channels.
