Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar, Imtiyaz Hussain, unveiled the initiative with a vision to strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the public. “Public trust in the police already exists; however, our aim is to build on it with innovative systems that make policing more transparent and accountable,” SSP Hussain stated during a media briefing.

The BHAROSA system leverages QR codes placed at police stations, offices, marketplaces, bus stops and other prominent public locations across Srinagar. Citizens can scan these codes to access a secure feedback page where they can share their experiences, suggestions or concerns. The process is quick and anonymous, taking less than a minute to complete.
To further enhance accessibility, Srinagar Police has also introduced a dedicated WhatsApp number (8899112888), allowing citizens to provide feedback through text messages, voice recordings, photos or videos. A specialized feedback management cell at the SSP Srinagar office will monitor all inputs and ensure timely action on complaints while recognizing commendable conduct by police personnel.
