In a grim reminder of the scourge of terrorism, Kupwara district has witnessed a spate of heinous attacks, leaving a trail of death and destruction in its wake. The callous dumping of a woman’s lifeless body at Sogam, the cold-blooded murder of a former Special Police Officer (SPO) in Bazipora, and the injuring of two security personnel in an explosion at Zachaldara, all within a single day of 20 Aug, 2001.

These acts of unmitigated violence are a stark testament to the terrorists’ utter disregard for human life and their desperation to spread fear and chaos. The targeting of civilians, including a woman and a former SPO who had dared to aid the security forces, is a reprehensible attempt to intimidate and silence the voices of peace.

We condemn, in the strongest possible terms, these cowardly acts of terror that have claimed innocent lives and left families shattered. Our hearts go out to the bereaved families, and KRF stands in solidarity with them.

Terrorism is a cancer that must be eradicated, and we must stand united against its evil forces. We owe it to the victims and their families to ensure that such heinous acts are never repeated. Let us come together to create a world where peace, love, and humanity triumph over hate and violence.
