On August 13, 1990, a heinous crime shook the very fabric of humanity in the Sopore area of Baramulla district. Babli Raina, a dedicated school teacher, was brutally gang-raped by armed terrorists in the presence of her helpless parents. The trauma and agony of that moment were only compounded by the unspeakable horror that followed, as she was mercilessly killed in front of her loved ones. This senseless act of violence not only claimed a precious life but also left an indelible scar on the family and the community, a painful reminder of the darkest aspects of human nature. May we never forget the sacrifices of innocent victims like Babli Raina and continue to strive for a world where such atrocities are never repeated.
