On that fateful day, September 2, 2002, the serene town of Kishtawar in Doda, Jammu, was shattered by the cruel hand of terrorism. A grenade, hurled by faceless cowards, tore through the streets, leaving a trail of blood and despair in its wake. Nineteen innocent lives were forever changed, including three brave CRPF personnel who were simply doing their duty. A child, full of promise and life, was also among the injured, a poignant reminder of the indiscriminate nature of terrorism. The echoes of that horrific day still linger, a painful reminder of the senseless violence that has scarred the region for far too long. As we remember the victims of that attack, we are reminded of the enduring spirit of resilience and courage that defines the people of Jammu and Kashmir. And the unwavering commitment of our brave security personnel who risk everything to keep us safe.
