We are in the race for becoming a developed nation. We praise our achievements and take pride in the progress of metros or smart cities. We miss the crucial part of the body, which is the head. And let us not forget that Jammu and Kashmir is the crown of the nation. This state remaining shut has implications; a huge young population lagged behind the rest of the country. The students continue to remain deprived of the competitiveness that prestigious exams ask for, also the education sector lags in means of business as the sector has vast scope for employment generation. Though there is no doubt in the fact that education is tonic for a healthy future. As aptly put by the author Victor Hugo: “He, who opens a school, closes a prison”.

This act of separatists, that of burning the schools, has created anxiety in the minds of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. It is leading to destruction, failure in education delivery, encouraging unemployment, intensifying hunger and unrest. Because of these problems, a common man is being engulfed as a “sympathizer of terrorist groups”. Remember, pain in one part of the body makes the whole body uncomfortable. A validation to valley is equally needed to level it’s all sectors with that of country capital, it thus can prove out to be an exemplary region of the country.

Following the context above, though India army is doing a commendable job, the skill centers run in oversight of army has created many folded workspace for the youth of valley. One can see the rise in work force, especially skilled labor fro m one district to another, the JSSK centers run projects tirelessly and provide a space for young and old to showcase their talents. They are later given media coverage that encourage them to work even better.

All in all, another insight is needed to disallow the terrorism to enter the shut doors of the valley, and that is possible in many ways, by featuring new and afresh educational institutions, investing in educational sector and working on ground zero. Only true education can bring peace in the valley. The recent IAS qualifiers have set an example for youth to dream high and not look around for weaponry.
