The dark shadows of terrorism have long haunted the serene landscape of Jammu and Kashmir, leaving behind a trail of tears, trauma, and tragedy. On August 27, 2001, the evil hand of terror struck again, claiming the lives of seven innocent civilians in Poonch. Five members of a family were brutally slaughtered at Mehrot, their laughter and dreams silenced forever. Two Hindu priests, custodians of faith and peace, were mercilessly gunned down at a temple in Dundak. And their sacred space desecrated by violence.

These heinous attacks were not isolated incidents, but part of a larger narrative of terror that has ravaged the region for decades. The memories of countless innocent lives lost, families torn apart and communities shattered still linger, a painful reminder of the atrocities inflicted upon the civilian population. The wounds of the past may have healed, but the scars remain, a testament to the resilience and courage of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the face of unrelenting terror.
